I have the honour to acknowledge the
receipt of your despatch No.140 of 11th April, 1934,
on the

subject of Muitsai.
Future returns will contain the statistics
called for in the second paragraph of that despatch, viz. the total number of Muitsai on the Register whose
addresses are unknown at the end of the period covered by the return other than those recorded as having
permanently left the Colony.

As reported in my despatch No.633 of the
28th December, 1935, the number of registered Muitsai
who were missing at the end of the period under review in that despatch (i.e. on November 30th, 1933) was 750. These missing Muitsai may be divided into three
